As far as we can tell, the mechanism and the distortion may not be the same, but it's likely they're connected. This island and everything about it is under the sway of that thing, somehow.
[Wow don't call me out on secretly playing Lucifer like this.]
Hmm. At least you didn't eat through the structure, I guess. Doesn't sound like it's usable right now, though.
We can restock it just fine, but I expect you to do the cleanup. And to remember to carry more food on you, next time, or it just might take longer to restock.
Considering your usual appetite, though, I half-expected you to start eating in your sleep. That stomach of yours is a different kind of curse entirely.
You're not wrong. I've eaten in my sleep before, especially if I'm too hungry or dream about something delicious. I think I'm the only demon who can do that.
Why is it sending us all to sleep? Does it have anything to do with that distortion over at the karaoke building?
Conscious and talking, but he said he's been feeling strange since last night. Bleeding out the nose whenever people try to heal, but he doesn't think it's because of his powers.
A power he was familiar with, or a new power he didn't have before?
My first instinct is something caught from the wildlife here. I'd probably quarantine him to be safe, even if it looks like he's already interacted with half the island. That might not account for the power thing.
If it's not that, then it's either something to do with the oncoming phenomenon, or something he ingested. Could be a combination of factors.
Depends on exactly what he ate or drank. The whole batch doesn't have to be bad.
And I can only take guesses without a closer examination. Sounds like you're better off having the doctor take a look. If he's awake and talking, it's probably not urgent.
As for the number of bodies, I've explained that too. [though, that was a while ago, so there may be a begrudging pause in the texts here before he continues] The warping is unstable; there hasn't been a large number of deaths on the island at once since before we came, so there's no telling what would happen. We're keeping an eye on it each week to make sure we're keeping it as stable as possible.
We've already changed the number of bodies needed. We might need to adjust again, but that depends on what happens the next time we see it.
UN: Beelzeburger (WEEK 2, TUESDAY)
Can I ask you a question?
no subject
Just ask it.

I'd still like to hear why. If that's all I'm meant to read, it doesn't look like he threatened you.
no subject
Since he wanted to be foolish and confront us after the distortion had manifested, choosing him was the natural order of things.
no subject
What was so important about the distortion?
no subject
What you all saw was just the beginning.
no subject
no subject
It really is like a natural disaster.
no subject
How did you find out killing people was the way to correct it?
no subject
We found out the old-fashioned way. There were others here, before, who knew the island a bit better -- though not by much.
no subject
Others?
In your position, or in ours?
UN: Beelzeburger (WEEK 2, BEFORE TRIAL)
Let me know what I can do to help fix it.
no subject
Do I want to know how bad it is?
By the end of invest, yep!

[Somebody was busy, as you could probably tell.]

I ate a lot when I woke up. Most of the dry pantry in the kitchen. Some of the shelves, too. And the door's broken.
The walls are all intact. But it doesn't look pretty.

I can take care of that. So long as I didn't eat the cleaning supplies. I don't remember.
I don't normally sleep that long without getting up to eat. I'd have prepared if I knew. Is that going to be happening a lot?
no subject
Considering your usual appetite, though, I half-expected you to start eating in your sleep. That stomach of yours is a different kind of curse entirely.
That said, it'll probably be a weekly occurrence.

WEEK 4 - WEDNESDAY
Overhaul. Something just happened to Wei Wuxian. Coughing up blood, tongue is black. Healing isn't working.
Any ideas?
no subject
Most healing's probably not compatible with his powers. Biological symptoms, something in the lungs... Is he stable?
no subject
He was able to use a power he couldn't before.
no subject

Others who ate what he did since yesterday are all fine. Someone is trying to find Baizhu to take a look.
You're saying you have no idea what this is?
no subject
And I can only take guesses without a closer examination. Sounds like you're better off having the doctor take a look. If he's awake and talking, it's probably not urgent.
no subject
Could I ask you another question while I have you here?
Joshua told me that you revived me. Shigaraki said he had nothing to do with it, and that it was on you.
I'd like to know why.
no subject
You're more useful to us and everyone else alive than dead. Even if you should watch what you put in your mouth.
no subject
Does having more than two bodies a week do something unexpected?
no subject
As for the number of bodies, I've explained that too. Do you know what happened the last time a lot of people died, before it got this bad?
