[ That certainly makes a lot of sense to her. She nods before continuing. ]

So you found a new way to frame it. That's a situation of their own making. After all, why go through the trouble of changing your way of thinking if you aren't placed in a situation where you had to? You don't strike me as the type to change your mind on a simple whim.

[ A little hum can be heard while she sorts out what she wants to say next. ]

People talk about love and justice all the time, but it always feels like how it's defined changes to benefit the ones in charge. It's frustrating, because I've heard people say such feelings are part of being human. Then why be so fickle about it?

I guess like you said, it's something people can feel good about. But I can't understand why they'd find that self-serving ambiguity comforting.
handsheld: (don't be afraid of heights)

[personal profile] handsheld 2023-06-05 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, pretty much.

[ He grins at that. ]

I don't really know what's it like to be human and nowadays most people call me a monster anyway, so I'm not the best person to ask. But I've seen 'nough to know what I wanna do. To me, it's not worth thinking past that.

It's not like they'd do the same, even if I was in the business of giving them chances or trying to live up to their self-serving moral codes. And if that's what being human is, I don't wanna be it, even if I could.
divector: (ⓜ nice to meet you today)

Good point. I don't know about being human either, but...well, I think it's a good point anyway. And that's the important part to me.

[ It's something to be happy about at least. ]

Let's see... Even if I did give them a chance to change, I'd bet it'd be lip service for a few weeks while they try to break their word. I know how they work. I lived with them for years before I got out. How couldn't I tell? I couldn't love them then, and they couldn't love "me" then and now. They never saw me as a fellow human.

So I guess the only thing really holding me back now is wanting Yuuki's answer. I think I said that before at least. I've been thinking about it even more, and that's not fair to her and me.

[ She stops for a moment, looking at a sky so different from all the ones she's seen before. ]

...Yeah, I'm putting too much on her. But I can apologize by razing the colony that forced her out to save her friend. I don't need to be human to do that. In fact, I shouldn't be. I'll have to be the villain. Which is fine.

[ And she turns to look at him, probably the most at peace she's felt in ages. ]

The world doesn't really need superheroes anyway. Right?
handsheld: (To do something good)

[personal profile] handsheld 2023-06-05 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He stops when she does, in tandem somehow, just like a lot of other things between them. And when she looks at him with that expression, his mouth twists into a knowing grin, his own self-achieved nirvana. ]

The only thing the world needs is what you want from it. That's how everyone plays the game, even heroes, they just lie about it.

So yeah, go ahead and destroy the colony and destroy them. Destroy the word superhero and everything they stand for.

That'll make you the villain, but there's at least two of us.
divector: (ⓜ moonlighting)

[personal profile] divector 2023-06-06 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it never sat right with me that they called themselves superheroes. I know for a fact most of them know what they're upholding.

[ Conventionally, this is in fact an incredibly screwed up situation. Unfortunately for everyone else, social norms and Moravia were never in the same ballpark from the start. Does she realize how much more frightening Yuuki would find her if she saw her like this? At this point...yes. And now she's willing to accept that fear.

Even if it makes her the villain, she won't be the only one. There's a strange sort of comfort in that, knowing that there's someone else who agrees that society should crumble to pieces for change to be made. Yes, there's Hyuga and Yukinami, always up to destroy at a word. But there's something simply different with someone not servile to her. Something that lets her breathe easier. ]

Hahaha... That so? Well, I certainly don't hate the idea. Best of luck to the both of us.
handsheld: (I'm a little twisted)

[personal profile] handsheld 2023-06-06 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
Luck is for games and people who use stupid phrases like "plus ultra".

[ It's kind of an oddity that superhero never caught on in his world but that silly catchphrase did. ]

Stuff like this is 'bout skill, power, and probably a few other things. [ For him it stops there but he knows from AFO that you can go the charisma route too. But he's fine just like this, fine with who he is and what he wants even if barely anyone else is.

And by now he knows it's...pleasant to be around someone who's similar. He doesn't need to think about it any harder than that. ]

So I ain't gonna wish you luck, cuz I don't think you need it. How 'bout give 'em hell and have fun instead?
divector: (ⓜ an answer worth waiting for)

[personal profile] divector 2023-06-06 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
[ That gets her to laugh again. Ah, point taken. But really, she feels like none of them would've reached this point without some luck. Just another thing to take advantage of, but hey, focusing on the more concrete areas is a far better use of time. ]

Mm, I get what you mean. It would leave a bad taste to think that everything we worked for is up to luck only. Like, don't discount our efforts. I still think a little luck brought me here, but I'll leave it at that.

[ Who knows what could've happened in another time, another place? She doesn't know, but she doesn't particularly care to know. Just gotta live in the moment. ]

Okay then, let's show them hell.
handsheld: (Everything is burning and I love it)

[personal profile] handsheld 2023-06-06 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
Nah, that really was RNG so we're on the same page there too.

[ He laughs at that too, because it really kinda is stupid but not in a bad way. ]

Same goes for here. [ If that's the path she wants to take, he's still here to encourage it. ]
divector: (ⓜ nothing to worry about here)

[personal profile] divector 2023-06-07 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
I'm actually kind of excited to see what happens now.

[ That probably shouldn't be the reaction to what just happened today, but whatever, she's over it. ]

Haha, well, I can grease the wheels a little and let them spin. Just because I found my answer doesn't mean seeing how others tick is any less interesting.

[ Guess that's what happens when your hobby is observation. ]
handsheld: (don't be afraid of heights)

[personal profile] handsheld 2023-06-07 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
It'll be fun.

[ And that's what's important. ]

I never bothered to watch people til recently, but I also never went outside either cuz there wasn't really a point. But if that's what you like, then yeah, keep doin' it. The thing 'bout knowing what you want is that nothing can hold you back anymore, not even yourself.
divector: (ⓜ ready for a fight)

[personal profile] divector 2023-06-07 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
What can I say? I like some unpredictability.

[ Maaaybe more specific kinds of unpredictability, but no need to split hairs. ]

But yeah, you do you. Not that you need me to say that. Still...I guess there is something I want to say to you.

[ She can't help but laugh a little more before continuing. ]

Thanks.
handsheld: (Everything is burning and I love it)

[personal profile] handsheld 2023-06-08 02:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't. [ wow. ] But it's not bad to hear from you.

[ That thanks is...somehow both surprising and not. It's not met immediately with pushback (maybe that has to do with her laugh), but instead with a gradual, easy smile. ]

You got it. [ "You get it." ]
divector: (ⓜ an answer worth waiting for)

[personal profile] divector 2023-06-09 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
Hehe, that so?

[ Moravia expected as much, but she's happy to hear it all the same, especially with that surprising addition. Her smile grows softer, lured by the sight of his. They really are unusual by any standards, so it's nice to go against the grain and be happy about themselves anyway.

Maybe that's too sentimental though. ]

And you're welcome for helping you with your report to Overhaul.

[ Which is to say she did absolutely nothing. ]
handsheld: (I'm a little twisted)

[personal profile] handsheld 2023-06-09 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Don't make me say it twice.

[ It's playful, considering he snickers when Overhaul's name comes up. ]

But if that's the case, guess you're stuck helping me next time too.
divector: (ⓜ ready for a fight)

[personal profile] divector 2023-06-09 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
[ She chuckles, nodding yes ostensibly to all of that. ]

Sure, I don't mind lending you a hand.
handsheld: (The time bomb clock)

[personal profile] handsheld 2023-06-09 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
[ Hands...

He's laughing again, this time for completely different reasons. It's airy and light, after all this time. ]

And after I got down to one. But they're supposed to go in pairs right? So sure. [ i am sorry there is zero context here for any of this and how is this the first time he's actually brought up the Hands. ]
divector: (ⓜ nice to meet you today)

[personal profile] divector 2023-06-09 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
[ She, of course, has no reason to think about hands too deeply and takes it as it is. ]

All right, it's a deal.

[ It's the repetition that gets him, as odd as that is—hands mean so much to him, but as he is now, they're just an accessory for a style and maybe a reminder that he's come this far not to be bothered by any of that anymore. There's no possible way she can know everything that's running through his mind, and he's not going to explain, he probably couldn't even if he wanted.

What does a hand like this mean? He's not sure, but he's also not going to reject it. He didn't reject the fourteen placed upon him when he was five, and this one is— ]

[ Different.

He knows that much, at least. He shakes the bare shock from his face with another laugh, this one quieter but softer at the very edge. ]

Yeah, it is. Then let's go. [ He'll give her a moment but after that he will break out into a run, like the shounen he is. Time to scout for real. ]

[ Of course, Moravia doesn't know. None of the psychokinetic abilities at her disposal allow her to. She simply responded with words lacking in her typical ambiguity, buoyed by the happiness she felt at having a frank conversation with him.

So she can't help but feel a little startled when she sees that expression on Shigaraki's face.

For some reason, memories of the past Yukinami bubble up in the back of her mind. The lost boy who she wasn't sure how to help, and yet wanted to anyway. And so she lent him her hand back then, fleeing with him to somewhere they may eventually find peace.

Nothing about this situation is the same, and yet...why did that come to mind now? She doesn't know. But she wasn't sure of much back then either, right? So, maybe there isn't a need to feel a little off kilter at the sight. She can handle things better now as an adult than as a runaway child.

Right, she can handle this. Her actions are her own, and she doesn't need to know his mind to want to help. All that's important is that she's honest in willing to lend a hand to Shigaraki as well.

At least she came to that conclusion before he started speaking again. ]

[ As if to shake herself out of her stupor, Moravia blinks multiple times during that one moment. This time she doesn't respond, but with a practiced ease, she runs after him, gradually upping her pace to match his. ]
