Luck is for games and people who use stupid phrases like "plus ultra".
[ It's kind of an oddity that superhero never caught on in his world but that silly catchphrase did. ]
Stuff like this is 'bout skill, power, and probably a few other things. [ For him it stops there but he knows from AFO that you can go the charisma route too. But he's fine just like this, fine with who he is and what he wants even if barely anyone else is.
And by now he knows it's...pleasant to be around someone who's similar. He doesn't need to think about it any harder than that. ]
So I ain't gonna wish you luck, cuz I don't think you need it. How 'bout give 'em hell and have fun instead?
[ That gets her to laugh again. Ah, point taken. But really, she feels like none of them would've reached this point without some luck. Just another thing to take advantage of, but hey, focusing on the more concrete areas is a far better use of time. ]
Mm, I get what you mean. It would leave a bad taste to think that everything we worked for is up to luck only. Like, don't discount our efforts. I still think a little luck brought me here, but I'll leave it at that.
[ Who knows what could've happened in another time, another place? She doesn't know, but she doesn't particularly care to know. Just gotta live in the moment. ]
I'm actually kind of excited to see what happens now.
[ That probably shouldn't be the reaction to what just happened today, but whatever, she's over it. ]
Haha, well, I can grease the wheels a little and let them spin. Just because I found my answer doesn't mean seeing how others tick is any less interesting.
[ Guess that's what happens when your hobby is observation. ]
I never bothered to watch people til recently, but I also never went outside either cuz there wasn't really a point. But if that's what you like, then yeah, keep doin' it. The thing 'bout knowing what you want is that nothing can hold you back anymore, not even yourself.
I don't. [ wow. ] But it's not bad to hear from you.
[ That thanks is...somehow both surprising and not. It's not met immediately with pushback (maybe that has to do with her laugh), but instead with a gradual, easy smile. ]
[ Moravia expected as much, but she's happy to hear it all the same, especially with that surprising addition. Her smile grows softer, lured by the sight of his. They really are unusual by any standards, so it's nice to go against the grain and be happy about themselves anyway.
Maybe that's too sentimental though. ]
And you're welcome for helping you with your report to Overhaul.
He's laughing again, this time for completely different reasons. It's airy and light, after all this time. ]
And after I got down to one. But they're supposed to go in pairs right? So sure. [ i am sorry there is zero context here for any of this and how is this the first time he's actually brought up the Hands. ]
[ It's the repetition that gets him, as odd as that is—hands mean so much to him, but as he is now, they're just an accessory for a style and maybe a reminder that he's come this far not to be bothered by any of that anymore. There's no possible way she can know everything that's running through his mind, and he's not going to explain, he probably couldn't even if he wanted.
What does a hand like this mean? He's not sure, but he's also not going to reject it. He didn't reject the fourteen placed upon him when he was five, and this one is— ]
[ Of course, Moravia doesn't know. None of the psychokinetic abilities at her disposal allow her to. She simply responded with words lacking in her typical ambiguity, buoyed by the happiness she felt at having a frank conversation with him.
So she can't help but feel a little startled when she sees that expression on Shigaraki's face.
For some reason, memories of the past Yukinami bubble up in the back of her mind. The lost boy who she wasn't sure how to help, and yet wanted to anyway. And so she lent him her hand back then, fleeing with him to somewhere they may eventually find peace.
Nothing about this situation is the same, and yet...why did that come to mind now? She doesn't know. But she wasn't sure of much back then either, right? So, maybe there isn't a need to feel a little off kilter at the sight. She can handle things better now as an adult than as a runaway child.
Right, she can handle this. Her actions are her own, and she doesn't need to know his mind to want to help. All that's important is that she's honest in willing to lend a hand to Shigaraki as well.
At least she came to that conclusion before he started speaking again. ]
[ As if to shake herself out of her stupor, Moravia blinks multiple times during that one moment. This time she doesn't respond, but with a practiced ease, she runs after him, gradually upping her pace to match his. ]

Okay then, let's show them hell.

[ He laughs at that too, because it really kinda is stupid but not in a bad way. ]
Same goes for here. [ If that's the path she wants to take, he's still here to encourage it. ]

[ Maaaybe more specific kinds of unpredictability, but no need to split hairs. ]
But yeah, you do you. Not that you need me to say that. Still...I guess there is something I want to say to you.
[ She can't help but laugh a little more before continuing. ]
Thanks.

But if that's the case, guess you're stuck helping me next time too.

Yeah, it is. Then let's go. [ He'll give her a moment but after that he will break out into a run, like the shounen he is. Time to scout for real. ]
