What's better than a regular vacation? A murder vacation! What, you didn't sign up for this? You're not paying for this either? Not to worry friend, money isn't the only currency on this island.

Welcome to the Interest Check for Last Resort, a private, invite only murdergame run by Limon Basil, Fyre, and Lum, set to run this May. On the lush island of Sungem's Peak, you can expect beautiful scenery, an all-inclusive resort, and of course, plenty of murder to shake your tropical drink of choice at 🍹.

In the spirit of really letting go and enjoying oneself, powers will be on—minus completely game breaking ones of course, since it's terribly gauche to just teleport out of the middle of vacation! And while characters will be completely cut-off from the outside world, there will be a network to facilitate socialization with other guests, along with other modern amenities.

🌴 Last Resort is set to accommodate up to 30 characters, and is direct invite only. If you got an invite from Limon, Fyre, or Lum you're good to go! In keeping with the vacation vibe, we plan on keeping things chill for everyone; while there will be lore in the game, Last Resort will be less lore heavy than games we've run in the past.

Right now we don't anticipate having room for +1s, but if this changes we'll announce it in the discord.

🌴 Reserves are on April 28th at 1PM EST. Applications are due May 11th at 11:59PM EST and game start is May 13th at 1PM EST. Last Resort is planned to run for 6 weeks, with the first week being a peace week with no murders.

🌴 Scapegoat style with private conversations (PCs), a network and of course a graveyard. Spam emojis to your friends and the NPCs, they probably deserve it.

🌴 Open to characters 16+ or older (14+ with suitability) with canon powers. There'll be 5 slots for non-powered characters if you're having trouble picking, but we'd like to encourage powered characters as much as possible. Our franchise/cast cap is 3.

🌴 Game breaking powers such as teleportation will be limited, and some powers like immortality and mind control may be nerfed entirely. See our FAQ for more details!

🌴 Last Resort will primarily be running on a murder proposal system, with IC incentive for characters to get their murder on. If needed, we'll utilize killer/victim preferences based off apps in order to facilitate murders.

🌴 Investigations will be Fridays at 6PM EST, trial on Saturdays from 1PM - 8PM EST, and player run executions will take place on Sundays.

🌴 Follow lastishresort for reminders/announcements pre-game! Please note that once the game starts, all information and game discussion will be moved to Discord. This plurk will be used only before game start to facilitate announcements and reminders.

RE: the network, if the character is just unfamiliar with or uncomfortable with tech stuff, then there is a friendly network AI that can help them navigate and point them in the right direction, so hopefully that will facilitate things.

But if it's a character who would refuse to use a tech network, then they might not be the greatest fit for the game. The network isn't necessarily an essential part of the game but it will be a pretty big avenue for interaction, so it would be up to the player to determine if they can work around that in some way or if they're okay with missing out on some things.

Hums, noted! As long as the friendly network AI can answer the question of whether or not any spirits were harmed in the making of this network as a negative, and that there's no particular ecological impact of this tech (listen, xillia universe is ....... something; sometimes your fictional climate crisis is because your fictional magitech burns a lot of nonrenewable energy that also happens to be people), Milla should be swingable! If not, I yeet her out of consideration because the spirit/ecological thing is kind of a hangup for her that's not completely unworkable, but more than a little inconvenient.

The AI can reassure her on those points, yes! It'd probably be some basic answers without too much detail, because (to clarify), the AI itself won't be a mod-run NPC but just a handwaved part of the network mechanic.
