i crawl in here late but im here!!!!

whooo their cr. i spent the early weeks yelling about their cr in mod chat. it was really interesting bc for the longest time i wasnt sure how to classify their cr, because while it def wholly positive in a normal sense, shigaraki sense isn't that simple.

obviously he went out of his way for her, given he checked up on her after lobelia's trial, met with her before he came out to the rest of the cast etc--- it was part curiosity, part wanting to call her bluff, and part whimsy. fundamentally they agreed and disagreed on pretty much everything, and in a way she really was like deku is to him in canon; he'll never understand her viewpoint which will be at odds with his 99% of the time, but he can also understand it in his own way, even if that makes no sense.

in the later weeks though, he did feel like they were headed for conflict more than anything else, which is fine-- part of it is bc of ibuki/moravia, not that he doesnt trust his own people to fight their battles, but because ultimately he is just very protective, and he didnt super like what was going on at times there. that and obviously lacus was also part of the living cast and not some different aligned identity. its weird bc part of him wanted to see her fail and another part of him wanted to see her succeed and in the end with how the stuff with overhaul went, both things kinda happened.

i cant even say the enemy of my enemy is my friend because this doesnt fit them either, and it was truly a unique cr experience-- in the end i would have had to roll to see if he would have protected her or not if it came down to it, given the fluctuations in his feelings and his general feelings of whimsy; he will do things sometimes for no apparent reason because he feels like it. he isnt thinking too hard at most given points anymore, which is both simple and complicated.

like their cr!!!!

when he wakes up, he'll contact her at some point randomly-- maybe in a stupid way like: hey i destroyed my world did u save urs yet

bc thats how he is

he would both kill her with no regrets and also save her with no regrets, and i think that says enough on its own.

im always happy when i can get luna cr like this, and it truly was different from capos. i hope to get it again next game!

THEY WERE SUCH A FASCINATING MESS, I say crawling in here ages later as well, gosh.

Shigaraki is precious to Lacus in a way that is different from how she feels about anyone else, even Lobelia despite the fact that Shigaraki and Lobelia started out by hitting into a very similar niche in Lacus' heart.

It's a CR that could really only exist this way because of Lacus' canon-point. If she hadn't been so concerned with figuring out how to be a good ruler, she would have more easily looked Shigaraki in the face and been like 'hey, your way of doing things sucks' - but as it was, he made her realize that people like him are going to be among the people she has to watch over.

Shigaraki came to represent the perfect paradox in her identity as a government official, and she was constantly looking to him as a learning experience. She never did solve the question of how to build a world in which he could be happy, but she's going to keep dwelling on it forever to try and get ever closer. That's the kind of inspiration he gave to her.

While on a personal level, she honestly just found him pretty pleasant? She was initially getting along with him to grill him for info, but soon enough she just got comfortable speaking her mind with him and just shooting the shit.

I think part of her issue with Moravia/Ibuki was honestly that she felt a bit jealous - not of their bond, but of the mere ability to be partial without feeling any guilt about it, lmao. Trying to keep herself mostly objective and non-offensive was really taking more out of her in context of a murdergame than it does in canon.

I really really enjoyed him needling her in the finale and giving her motivation in that. I think that is probably also like... the most fascinating aspect of them? The fact that Lacus can show him her weak side even though he is also someone who prompts her to rise and prove her ideals, in the end.

Lacus doesn't think that she and Shigaraki will ever be able to exist in the same world for too long without it leading to disaster, but she's absolutely going to want to keep contact once he finally surfaces again. He should tell her about the world his allies are building, for starters!!

I think Shigaraki, more than anyone, might also get her venting. Like if there's anyone she'll text "why is board member x such a bitch" to, it's him. She is tired of being nice, ok. But she will not go ape shit, thanks.

THEY WERE REALLY GOOD AND I ENJOYED THEM SO MUCH, it's the most complicated CR we had yet and I am SO PLEASED
